Alfred Nobel in his laboratory
Alfred still lives on in his Björkborn laboratory in the form of a life-like mannequin. Originally built by Nobel in 1895, the laboratory today houses a reconstruction of his laboratory environment plus an exhibition about his industrial work and patents. Alfred Nobel’s technical library, and Sverre Sohlman’s office also remain on show (Sverre Sohlman was director of AB Bofors in the 1930s). Photograph – Hans Johansson

Gun from the 1800s
This gun was manufactured by AB Bofors-Gullspång in Karlskoga sometime around the end of the 1800s. Today it’s on show in the Bofors Industrial Museum – part of the Nobel Museum in Karlskoga. Here visitors can learn about some 350 years of industrial history based here in Karlskoga, including both civilian and military products. Photograph – Hans Johansson
